A longer walk than we planned!

we decided to do a walk from Dan-yr-ogof to Llyn-yr-fan fawr, we started at 5.30pm as my brother wanted to test out his new g.p.s.

The start was just straight up, long and quite steep.

The weather was superb, but we were on the shady side of the mountain so wanted to get to the top.

After a lot of up we made it into the sunshine and flat ground.

I had my videocamera with me and got some footage of the sunset.

When it got dark we used my brothers torch to see where we were going,

it packed up though and forced us to turn back and test the g.p.s.

It was hard walking in the darkness, (I wished I had eaten some carrots),

the g.p.s. was showing us the way to go, but I kept thinking that it was the wrong way!

Eventualy we reached the top of the decent and could now see the road beneath us,

walking and sliding down the hill was mad and getting steeper all the time,

my brother fell as I had nearly done a few times, it felt dangerous.

Very dangerous we were to find out as we ended up on the edge of a cliff,

it was so dark that it was hard to see how far the drop was, but was obvious

that we'd gone the wrong way.

Our short walk had now become a long one, and we had to go all the way back up

and forget using the g.p.s.

We eventualy found the path back, though my eyes were now hurting with

the strain of trying to see, going down the path to the road was blindingly

hard work(l.o.l.).

The moral of this walk is, learn how to use your new g.p.s. before testing

it out....
